Executive Sponsorship is one of our more personal Supplier Diversity Development (SDD) initiatives. Through this program, diverse business owners are afforded the opportunity to build a relationship with a key Lilly executive who serves as their mentor or coach. Business owners are selected based on candid reviews of the business as well as past performance within Lilly and with other companies.
The diverse business owner and the sponsor commit to some basic requirements to ensure the initiative is mutually beneficial. The diverse business owner meets with his or her executive sponsor and shares short-and long-term business plans. The executive sponsor provides feedback to the diverse business owner and to the SDD department about the progress.
