Newton F. Crenshaw became vice president, global public policy, pricing, reimbursement & access (PRA), and international corporate affairs in July 2008.
Crenshaw had served as president and general manager of Lilly Japan since August 2003. He is a member of the company’s senior management council.
He received a bachelor of arts degree with honors in economics and mathematics from DePauw University in 1985. Crenshaw was also a management fellow, an honors program for the Center of Management and Entrepreneurship.
Crenshaw joined the company in 1985 as a sales representative in Charlottesville, Va. In 1988, he became a marketing analyst and in 1989 a government pricing associate. In December 1989, he was named manager of the Nashville district. He was named manager of marketing research (oral antibiotics and central nervous system) in 1992. In 1994, he became regional sales director, south central area. He became team leader of business-to-business customer strategy and implementation in 1997. In 1999, he was promoted to vice president, U.S. sales and marketing (primary care and neuroscience). He was named vice president of e.Lilly, formed in July 2000 to accelerate utilization of new business models through the use of digital technologies. In August 2002, he became vice president of communications and public affairs for Lilly.
Crenshaw serves on several outside boards, including as chair of PhRMA’s Japan-based executive committee.
