 Andreas Witzel, Ph.D.
Vice President of Drug Product Manufacturing Operations for Europe and Asia
Dr. Andreas “Andrew” Witzel is currently vice president of Eli Lilly and Company’s drug product manufacturing operations for Europe and Asia. He also serves as a member of the company’s senior management council.
Born in Berlin, Germany, he is a licensed pharmacist who studied pharmaceutical sciences at Christian-Albrecht University in Kiel, Germany. He received a Doctor of Natural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Technology from Freie Universitaet, Berlin, Germany in 1988.
Witzel worked in pharmaceutical manufacturing for more than 16 years, during which he had multiple international assignments. He joined Eli Lilly and Company in 2003 as director, manufacturing operations in Basingstoke, UK.
