I interact with lots of people from Europe and Australia, so my e-mail and voice mail are usually full by the time I arrive in the morning.

9:00 am

I have two manuscripts I'm working on, each with internal and external co-authors. I'm the main contact person for both manuscripts, and I spend the morning working through their comments, assimilating them and working on the next drafts.

Noon

A relaxing lunch. I meet a colleague from manufacturing in the Lilly cafeteria, and we discuss a little work, a little personal stuff.

1:00 pm

I meet with colleagues to discuss a Phase III study for Xigris®. It's a long meeting, but we get lots accomplished.

4:00 pm

Some more coordination with my co-authors. I schedule a phone conference for the next afternoon so we can discuss a few fine points.

5:30 pm

Check that voice mail again before I go home. It's been a long, productive day.
