Campus FAQsFor all your questions, Lilly provides the answers that matter. We’ve provided the following questions and answers to further help you determine how Lilly can help launch your career. Q. How do I apply if my career interest is not being recruited for on campus? If your area of interest is not being recruited for on campus, you may search for available positions for that area and apply directly online. Q. What if my school is not listed on the recruiting calendar? We attend recruiting events at the schools listed on our website. If your school is not listed, our recruiting team will not be on-site at your campus. If you are interested in career opportunities, please search for the job(s) of interest and apply directly online. Q. What is your statement of employment practice? All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, handicap, disability, veteran status or any other basis prohibited by law, unless such basis constitutes a bona fide occupational qualification. Lilly complies with its obligation to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities. Each applicant will be reviewed on individual merit. No question is intended to imply any limitations, illegal preferences, or discrimination based upon any non-job-related information. Q. What different career opportunities can I pursue at Lilly? There are many different career paths you can pursue. Please visit our Areas of Interest section for more information. Q. What are the key leadership behaviors at Lilly?Lilly strongly believes in its people and wants to develop and reap the benefits of strong leadership behavior. The following seven behaviors provide the framework for leadership at Lilly.
Q. Who is considered an international student?Any student who is not legally authorized to work in United States is considered an International Student. Q. Does Lilly offer visas or work permits? In most cases, Lilly does not offer visas or work permits. You will need to have work authorization for the country for which you wish to work unless otherwise stated in the position description. Intern questionsQ. How is intern performance managed and evaluated?Your performance evaluation is based on the same leadership behaviors all Lilly employees strive for — as well as, in some cases, certain project-specific goals. You can expect coaching and feedback from supervisors, colleagues and mentors, as well as support and guidance from experienced Lilly executives. Interns also have interim and final reviews with their project supervisors. Q. Can my internship lead to full-time employment?Absolutely. Lilly management reviews every intern for full-time employee opportunities. The internship is a great way to network broadly within our organization and to introduce yourself to roles and responsibilities across our business areas. Q. Can I get course credit for participating in the internship program?Whether or not you receive course credit depends on your school’s policy. Some schools have formal intern programs in which students must submit papers and a final report to receive credits. Other schools with less formal intern programs review student requests for credit on a case-by-case basis. Please check with your career services office or your academic advisor to determine your options. Q. Does Lilly offer internships to international students?Lilly is a global company with offices in many nations; however, our United States (U.S.) office only hires those interns eligible to work in the U.S. Undergraduate students must be authorized to be lawfully employed in the U.S. and do not require sponsorship for employment authorization now or in the future. The U.S. office also helps identify qualified international students studying for graduate degrees in the U.S. who want to return to their home country to work in one of our offices. If you are attending school in a country outside the U.S., we suggest that you contact our office in that country and inquire about internship opportunities. Q. What does the selection process for your internship program involve?Your resume will be reviewed to determine the best match with our openings. If you are identified as a potential match, you may be contacted for an interview. If you are interested in a sales internship, you will also need to successfully complete our pre-employment screen (directions are online). Q. When will I be notified which project I have been assigned? This varies by discipline. Your recruiter will be in contact with you with relevant information regarding your assigned project. Q. What is the process for consideration of full-time positions?A primary source of recruiting comes from our internship program. Consider your internship as a 12-week interview process for both us and you.
