Lilly Foundation

Welcome to the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation website.

The vision of Eli Lilly and Company is to make a significant contribution to humanity by improving global health in the 21st century. This vision guides the work of the company, including its commitment to corporate responsibility.

At Lilly, corporate responsibility is the comprehensive efforts we undertake - using a range of assets and capabilities - to help address a specific set of societal issues.

The Eli Lilly and Company Foundation, a tax-exempt private foundation established by the company in 1968, awards cash grants for philanthropic initiatives aligned with the company’s corporate responsibility priorities. Specifically, the Foundation is dedicated to:

  • Improving the lives of people who lack the resources to obtain quality healthcare. Our primary focus will be in low and middle income countries.
  • Strengthening public education in the United States, with an emphasis on science and math education.

For more information, please see What We Support.

Please note that we have updated our giving guidelines and, starting in 2011, the Foundation will no longer accept applications for unsolicited grants.  The Foundation focuses our investments in a few keys areas, proactively working with high-performing non-profit organizations with the demonstrated ability to find innovative solutions to complex problems.

Thank you for your interest in the Eli Lilly and Company Foundation.
