Improving Health For Those In Need
The Lilly Foundation seeks to improve the lives of those lacking the resources to obtain quality healthcare. We collaborate with effective global and local partners working in low- and middle-income countries to help address complex problems. The Foundation’s primary focus is the Lilly MDR-TB Partnership, a long-term collaboration to battle multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. The Foundation also provides support for hunger relief in conjunction with Elanco, Lilly’s animal health division.
The Foundation supports results-oriented programs and organizations that enhance performance in science and math and improve educational outcomes for underserved students. Our geographic emphasis is Indiana, the site of Lilly’s corporate headquarters and largest R&D footprint.
Partnering with United Way
The Foundation has been a long-time supporter of United Way, an organization that is uniquely positioned to drive impact in the communities in which it operates. United Way is an essential partner in much of our community-based work, most notably in Central Indiana.
Supporting Organizations That Make Indianapolis a Great Place
The Foundation supports select cultural and community development organizations and projects that meaningfully enhance the quality of life in Indianapolis. Organizations and projects that distinguish Indianapolis on a national or international basis are best positioned for funding.
Matching Employee Donations
The Foundation matches employee donations to educational institutions, cultural organizations and select healthcare charities in the US, as well as various international non-profits through our partnership with Global Giving. In 2014, matching donations equaled $6.2 million, representing over 20% of the Foundation’s total budget.
