An R&D Leader, From Ski Slopes to Science Lab

Jan Lundberg, Ph.D., executive vice president for science and technology and president of Lilly Research Laboratories, discovered two of his biggest life passions at an early age: sports and science. Throughout his career, Jan has applied the attributes he gained skiing and playing hockey, including a competitive spirit and a propensity toward teamwork, to the work he’s done in the lab. Jan now oversees a staff of nearly 7,000 people around the world, all working as a team to discover innovative medical treatments.
