Employee Well-Being
We strive to make Lilly a place where our employees enjoy meaningful work, build successful careers and make important contributions to society. Our approach to employee well-being means fostering a healthy, vibrant work environment while also enriching our employees’ lives with their families and in their communities. We believe this holistic approach helps Team Lilly be our best – more collaborative, more creative and more engaged – as we deliver on our company purpose.
We take a broad view of well-being anchored in providing support for mental and physical health, financial knowledge and security, as well as a culture of rich connections and purpose to inspire all employees to be their best.
Lilly’s Global Well-Being Framework
Our Global Well-Being Framework takes a broad view to inspire all employees to be at their best, including:
- Health | We focus on building resilience and mindfulness to manage the stresses of life, destigmatising mental health conditions, realising unique abilities, and emphasising a sense of belonging. We encourage nutrition, movement, sleep, and care for optimal functioning of the body and aim to create a safe environment to work and live.
- Money | We aim to support our employees in meeting their financial needs today and achieving their future financial goals, while enjoying life along the way. We invest in education to inspire confidence in financial choices.
- Life | We believe in building meaningful family, social and community relationships and investing time with loved ones and activities that bring joy. We encourage experiences that emphasise purpose as well as personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
In caring for our colleagues, we power our purpose.

Learning and Development
Our professional development platform, Explore Your Career, provides resources to help employees grow and lead as they navigate their career at Lilly. Launched in 2020, the platform contains tools and guidance for employees and their managers to discuss career aspirations, skills and interests; map career scenarios; and develop necessary skills. In addition to live programs, there is an online portal with thousands of courses that cover business, technical and creative fields. Resources are personalised based on employee profile and are accessible anytime and from anywhere.
