Cardiometabolic Health
Cardiometabolic diseases are a spectrum of interrelated chronic diseases that affect the cardiovascular system—the heart, blood circulation and blood vessels—and metabolic health.1 These cardiometabolic diseases, like diabetes and obesity, are often interconnected but can have separate treatment plans from multiple health care providers. This can make it difficult to see a holistic view of a person’s health.
As a pioneer in early diabetes care, we’ve expanded our more than 100 years of experience to help address unmet medical needs in cardiometabolic health. By examining comorbidities as well as their overlapping risk factors, causes and impacts, we can learn and address the root causes of diseases with comprehensive cardiometabolic health solutions.
However, innovation in cardiometabolic health has to go beyond the development of new medicines. We’re working to reduce systemic barriers to ensure medicines and health solutions for cardiometabolic diseases—a leading cause of death worldwide2—reach those who need them most. So everyone has a chance at better health.
