1. What is eloralintide?
Eloralintide is an investigational, once-weekly injectable medication that is being studied for the treatment of obesity. It belongs to a class of medicines called amylin receptor agonists. In clinical trials, it was self-injected once weekly.
2. When was data on eloralintide announced?
Lilly unveiled Phase 1 trial results for eloralintide in June 2025 at American Diabetes Association 2025. Phase 2 trial results for eloralintide were presented at ObesityWeek and simultaneously published in The Lancet in November 2025.1-3

4. Is eloralintide approved by the FDA?
No. Eloralintide is an investigational medication. Lilly is currently conducting clinical trials evaluating its safety and efficacy. Any potential submission for regulatory review or resulting approval will depend on the outcomes of ongoing and future clinical trials.
5. Which clinical trial phase is eloralintide currently in?
Eloralintide has completed Phase 1 and 2 clinical trials in adults with obesity or overweight with at least one obesity-related comorbidity and without type 2 diabetes.2 In 2025, Lilly plans to move eloralintide into Phase 3 trials.
6. Is Lilly investigating eloralintide on its own, or in combination with another therapy?
Lilly is currently investigating eloralintide alone (as a monotherapy) and in combination with tirzepatide for the treatment of obesity or overweight with at least one obesity-related comorbidity in Phase 2 trials. Lilly plans to initiate Phase 3 clinical studies of eloralintide as a monotherapy for the treatment of obesity by the end of 2025 and is evaluating its use as a complimentary treatment to incretin therapy
