What to ask your doctor

Not sure what to ask your doctor about a cancer study? You or your loved one can start with the
following questions:

• What are the potential benefits and risks of joining the trial?

• What’s the goal of this specific cancer research study?

• How many patients before me have received this research treatment, and how did they do?

• What are the different treatment groups in the trial?

• How many months will the clinical trial take?

• Who will be running the cancer study, and what will they be responsible for?

• Who do I contact if there’s an emergency?

• Is there anything I can’t do while I am in the cancer clinical trial?

• Can I withdraw from the study at any point in time?

• What will I need to do if I decide to take part in the clinical trial?

• Am I eligible to participate?

• Why am I a good fit for this study?

• What do I have to do to be a participant in the trial?

• Do I need to travel for study visits, and how often will they be?

• Will it cost me money to participate?

• Will I receive any financial support to participate in the study?

• Who can I contact if I have any questions?
