Update on Stock Availability of Mounjaro® (tirzepatide)
Update 11 September 2024:
To improve the supply situation, Eli Lilly Australia (Lilly) has commenced a transition period in which Mounjaro® (tirzepatide) single-use vials will be replaced with Mounjaro (tirzepatide) multi-use Kwikpen. The 12.5mg and 15mg doses of the Mounjaro vial are unavailable, and limited availability of Mounjaro vials across all other doses is to be expected(1). Information on supply of Mounjaro vials is available on the Therapeutic Goods Administration TGA medicines shortage reports database. There are no shortages in place for the Mounjaro multi-use KwikPen.
Lilly is committed to ongoing replenishment of all doses of the Mounjaro KwikPen presentation. As part of our commitment to supplying Mounjaro in Australia, Lilly continues to invest and add manufacturing capacity around the world. We have commenced incretin production at our manufacturing facility in North Carolina, in the U.S., with additional actions and expansions at other sites around the globe.
For patients
During this transition period, availability of Mounjaro vials across pharmacists may vary. Patients unable to fill their Mounjaro vial prescriptions are advised to consult with their Healthcare Professional.
