Two women meeting in Lilly Saudi office

Lilly in Saudi Arabia

Lilly was founded in 1876, and our legacy includes being the first company to mass-produce insulin in 1923. Lilly has been represented in Saudi Arabia since 1983, and in 2018 became one of the first pharmaceutical companies to establish a fully-owned legal entity in the Kingdom.

As an innovation-driven company, and with investments ranging from clinical trials to local manufacturing, Lilly works closely with all stakeholders to ensure people in Saudi are among the first in the region to gain broad access to innovative and safe medicines.

We are proud of our bright, engaged, and empowered Saudi workforce, nearly 80% Nationals, split equally between men and women. In addition to Saudi Nationals, we have employees from 8 different nations around the world, ensuring a diverse and inclusive work environment.

As the first pharmaceutical company to sign up for the Regional Headquarters (RHQ) initiative, Lilly Saudi puts Riyadh at the centre of its operations. The vision for the Kingdom is compelling and we want to be part of the solution and help shape the future. We are committed to a future in Saudi, with Saudi and for Saudi. We are grateful for a first 40 years in the kingdom and we look forward to the next 40 years.
