Medicines Supply

Supply Status of Lilly Medicines

As a medicine company, Eli Lilly and Company has been committed to helping people around the world for nearly 150 years.

In recent months, we have witnessed extraordinary growth in the demand for some of our diabetes medicines. While this demand has shined a spotlight on the needs of people living with diabetes, the reality is that it has caused challenges in supplying enough medicine to meet demand.

While Lilly continues to manufacture all doses of our medicines, over the next few months, you may experience difficulty when trying to fill prescriptions of some of our Lilly medicines. We are working with purpose and urgency to help meet the surge in demand and to minimize disruptions in the treatment plans for everyone who relies on our medicines. Any Lilly medicines currently in short supply will be reported on Health Canada’s drugshortages.ca website.

Lilly understands the frustration and uncertainty that people may experience if there are delays in filling their prescriptions and we take this seriously.

What is Lilly doing to meet demand?

We are modernizing and enhancing existing sites with the latest technology to increase our manufacturing capacity. We are also building new facilities at record speed, going from breaking ground to producing medicine in just two years—three years faster than average.
