Quality Assurance
Kinsale Quality Assurance is an inclusive team that values cross-functional work to ensure right first time execution and continuous improvement through innovative ideas. We work with the entire site to maintain a strong quality culture and constant focus on inspection readiness. The students role involves working with various teams to help deliver the highest quality products to patients around the world.
Regulatory Affairs
The Regulatory Affairs team is responsible for obtaining, maintaining, and managing medicinal product marketing authorisations, supporting Small Molecule Chemical and Peptide Synthesis and Large Molecule manufacturing at Kinsale and the external manufacturing of Lilly assets. In this role, the student works under supervision to support regulatory activities for the US, EU and Rest of World (ROW) markets.
Human Resources
The Human Resources Department are responsible for providing support to the business in the areas of pay and benefits, recruitment and selection, people development, communications and employee relations. During the placement the student will be exposed to a variety of roles and functions while working as part of a cross functional team. Working alongside the HR team will enable the student to employ their existing knowledge and to expand it further.
Statistics
The TSMS Statistics group supports the statistical needs of the site across both small and large molecule manufacturing. In this role, the student will work under supervision to aid in the day-to-day work of the Statistician involving interacting with numerous internal functions to collect and clean appropriate data, carry out analysis, and present their findings.
Procurement
The Procurement team are responsible for sourcing new materials and services, negotiating costs, managing vendor performance, and putting contracts in place to agree service levels and mitigate risk. In this role the student will work with the three procurement sub teams drafting agreements, updating tools and dashboards, and expediting deliveries with suppliers across capital, direct materials, and supplies & services.
Finance
The Finance and Tax team is responsible for maintaining the financial and tax records and process at Lilly Kinsale, including responsibility for general accounting, statutory reporting, planning, product costing and tax compliance. In this role, the student works under manufacturing site management supervision in conducting financial and tax activities and with cross functional Lilly teams across the globe.
Process & Chemical, Biochemical Engineering
Engineering students can support many roles across the site, including manufacturing support, automation and Environmental Control and Utilities. The site is unique in Ireland with three manufacturing modalities on the same site (large molecule biologics, small molecule API and peptides), meaning the engineering opportunities and experiences are endless.
Manufacturing Science
The Technical Services and Manufacturing Science group provide technical support for existing manufacturing processes as well as supporting commercialization and technology transfer of new processes into the operations/manufacturing environment. During the placement the student will work in the laboratory supporting these operations, being exposed to a variety of roles and functions while working as part of a cross functional team.
Mechanical & Electrical Engineering
The goal of the Maintenance Function is to maintain and continually improve the reliability of process equipment and utilities ensuring reliable supply of medicine for our millions of patients around the world. In this role, the student will interact with equipment sets that support in technical troubleshooting of equipment as well as running Preventive and Predictive Maintenance programs.
Supply Chain
The Supply Chain team manages API supply, raw material, consumable inventory, customer service, warehousing & logistics, SAP, Master data and SAP system support. In this role the student supports supply chain activities such as MRP (Material Resource Planning), SAP goods receipt, invoice reconciliation, Safety stock adherence and other key supply chain reports.
Automation
The Automation team oversees the site's automation, supporting manufacturing across Biotech, API, and Peptides manufacturing. Students gain exposure to process control, including projects, managing change, supporting deviation investigations, and maintaining the automation platforms. Within this GMP environment, all aspects of automation from design, development, to code deployment are managed.
Microbiology
The Technical Science and Manufacturing Science (TSMS) Microbiological team are responsible for design, monitoring and maintaining microbiological contamination controls in accordance with current Good Manufacturing Practices. In this role, the student works under mentor supervision supporting the TSMS Micro team to maintain microbiological controls in facility, utility, process, materials, personnel and equipment controls in compliance with our regulatory commitments and to met all required quality standards.
Analytical & Quality Control
The Laboratory Analyst works with the Quality Control Laboratory and is responsible for conducting various analytical tests/assays to determine the identity, quality and purity of incoming raw materials, intermediates, and drug substances in accordance with established quality control procedures. In this role, the student will support Lilly Kinsale’s quality control laboratory operations and project work, within the chemistry/bioanalytical laboratories.
Digital Solutions
The Tech@Lilly team Kinsale is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining a portfolio of innovative digital solutions within a cross functional partnership enabling and powering our administrative and manufacturing operations across our campus, ultimately benefiting our patients. In this role, the student will be immersed in a comprehensive programme of training and experience ensuring that they develop a broad knowledge base and skillset.
Environmental Control & Utilities
The Environmental Control & Utilities team is responsible for providing the clean and grey utilities needed to produce medicine in conjunction with the safe and environmentally controlled management of waste required by this production. The student will have exposure to and the opportunity to complete engineering activities for processes in each of these areas.
