Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Embracing diversity, equity and inclusion is at the core of our long-held value of respect for people.

Celebrating Our Differences. Sharing Our Success.

To solve some of the toughest challenges in medicine we need the most innovative ideas. That is why we are committed to creating and sustaining an open, inclusive and diverse environment, where everyone feels valued, respected and heard. Through the sharing of a diverse range of perspectives, experiences and skills, we can inspire each other to think differently, generate ideas and deliver innovative healthcare solutions.

Our efforts to ensure a diverse and inclusive environment for our employees span the globe. For us, embracing diversity means understanding, respecting, and valuing differences, including but not limited to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status.

At Lilly, we believe every person has the right to come to work and be their true selves. It is our goal to create an environment of belonging and safety that enables all our employees to speak up and feel respected, valued, and heard.

Employee Groups

In Ireland, we have several employee groups which foster a culture of belonging. These groups offer strong support networks and provide the opportunity to learn about the many cultures that make up Lilly. All employees are welcome and encouraged to join.

The Gender Inclusion Network employee group logo. The female and male gender symbols are depicted on a balanced scale.

The Gender Inclusion Network works to remove obstacles that prevent women and men at Lilly from achieving their full potential by challenging attitudes and beliefs about gender. We do this by identifying barriers, and raising awareness of individual gender bias. The ‘Men as allies’ program and driving gender parity are our key focus points.

The Generation-Lilly employee group logo. Icons of people in purple, orange, blue and red form a crowd in a dark blue circle above the text 'Generation L'.

Generation-Lilly’s purpose is to promote and embrace a multigenerational culture, leveraging our diverse experiences, perspectives and backgrounds to ensure employees of all generations feel connected among peers, engaged within Lilly, and equipped to succeed professionally.

The Lilly Enable employee group logo. A drawing of a person is in a green cricle within a green outlined rectangle.

ENABLE’s purpose is to create a disability-confident culture. We do this by promoting awareness, providing support and removing barriers for people living with disabilities, impairments and long-term health conditions. Access Lilly is our priority focus, a strategic initiative aimed at creating a barrier-free environment, both physical and digital, for all employees and customers.

The Lilly Allly employee group logo. The word ally is written in white, bold, capital letters in front of a rainbow flag.

LGBT+ Allies promote the equal experience, treatment and safety for Lesbian, Gay, Bi and Trans people everywhere Lilly operates, to enable employees to reach their full potential. Lilly is honoured to be a Global Stonewall Champion. The LGBT+ Allies group supports colleagues globally through curricula, visibility items and events, enabling allyship to be shown and put into practice.

The MultiCulture employee group logo. Icons of people in varying colours are arranged in a circle with the text Multi-C in the center.

MultiCulture's purpose is to create an environment where people of colour are empowered to be their authentic selves and a culture where we celebrate differences. Where we all take responsibility and action to ensure everyone is heard, valued and respected for their unique contribution to the community we live and work in.
