Educational Outreach

Lilly believes that the medicines of tomorrow rely on future generations to discover them. To help achieve this we are supportive of educational projects for primary, secondary and third level education.

For local primary schools we hold an “Introduction to Science” day and employees work with the school on various projects including entries for the Young Scientist competition.

At second level, Lilly is involved in helping the schools promote science in a practical way. Examples of this are career talks, subject targeted site tours, support for Young Scientist projects and Transition Year work experience. Lilly also sponsors a Cork County Junior Certificate Science quiz and lend our support to the iWish community who showcase the power of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths to female secondary school students.

Across both primary and secondary levels, our employees volunteer as part of the Junior Achievement Ireland programme, teaching students how they can impact the world around them as individuals, workers and consumers, preparing students for their future careers.

At third level, Lilly closely collaborates with Institutes of Technology and Universities both nationally and internationally. This ranges from providing guest lecturers in specific topics, to providing specific undergraduate placements across all areas of our business in Ireland.

We are also happy to lend expertise in the areas of health, safety and environmental programmes to support activities in the community and local schools.
