We are proud to invest in innovation that solves the world's most significant health challenges. But we know that’s just the start of the conversation.
Our commitment to social impact inspires how we work to expand access to our medicines and tackle complex global health challenges.
We’re making care more affordable in the United States, like launching new programs so that anyone using Lilly insulin – regardless of their insurance status – is now eligible to fill their monthly prescription for $35. And we’re improving access to quality health care around the world, including our work to make our antibody therapies available to these low- and middle-income countries, furthering our goal of reaching as many patients with unmet needs as we can, no matter where they live.
Reaching across industry boundaries, we collaborate with leading partners to reach more people and help them feel better in their daily lives. Our collective work benefits individual patients and the entire global health system.
Lilly 30x30
Globally, we’ve established a goal – Lilly 30x30 – to provide improved access to quality health care for 30 million people in resource-limited settings, annually, by 2030.
Lilly 30x30 is a company-wide effort and includes strategic collaborations with external organizations, such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and donations supporting nonprofit organizations, including the Lilly Foundation, the Lilly Cares Foundation and Life for a Child.
We use a mix of philanthropy and shared value-based approaches to improve health systems and concentrate on diseases where we have deep technical expertise, including diabetes, cancer and, now, COVID-19.
We focus our 30x30 efforts in three key areas:
Pipeline
Discovering medicines, repurposing internal assets and collaborating externally for diseases that disproportionately affect people in resource-limited settings
Programs
Strengthening and creating new programs that help improve access to Lilly medicines
Philanthropy
Supporting charitable efforts that strengthen health systems, increase access to quality care and improve outcomes. This may include non-philanthropic initiatives.
At Lilly, our purpose is to unite caring with discovery to create medicines that make life better for people around the world. Core to our purpose is our commitment to aid human suffering – independent of an individual’s or nation’s economic status – and to conduct our business in a responsible way for the long term.
